Durham City Access For All provides a forum for discussion on all matters concerning access, identifies access improvement needs within the Durham City boundaries.
It also acts as a pressure group on organisations such as local councils, educational institutions, business premises and transport operators to achieve improvements in access by writing direct and organising petitions as necessary.
The group also publicises areas which require action and achievements via press, radio and newsletters. Contact is maintained with or affiliated to other bodies, both local and national, with an interest in improving access.
The group is open to any interested person. It includes representatives of organisations for people with particular disabilities, the social care services and the county council, as well as individuals.
